Organization and Position Overview
Youth Villages is a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to helping emotionally and behaviorally troubled children and their families live successfully. Founded in 1986, Youth Villages has an annual budget of over $200 million with the majority from public sources and 2,700 employees committed to helping more than 20,000 children and families each year in 13 states and the District of Columbia.
In 2016 Youth Villages received the largest private grant ever given to a child welfare organization to dramatically impact the challenges faced by young adults aging-out of foster care nationally. We have an ambitious plan to reach a significant portion of the 23,000 young people who age-out of care annually. Our strategy is multi-faceted — focused on growing YVLifeSet to directly impact young people, advocating for advances in state and federal policy and building more research and evidence that demonstrates what services and approaches are most effective at supporting young people in improving their lives as they transition to adulthood.
An essential component of Youth Villages’ growth strategy is launching a new business unit focused on partnering with state and county public agencies and with other private providers to train them to deliver Youth Villages developed YVLifeSet and Intercept programs. This is an incredibly exciting and transformative new business venture for the organization and this position is critical to bringing our strategy to life.
The Marketing/Business Development Associate is responsible for driving growth through partnerships in high priority jurisdictions. The role includes identifying target locations, landscape research and analysis, outreach to public and private agencies, leading meetings, writing proposals and drafting budgets, and ultimately shepherding YV services into new locations. The role requires innovative thinking on creative payment structures and contracting approaches, as well as a flexible, collaborative, can-do attitude.
