Job Description
The Executive Management Trainee Program is a highly selective training program that
partners candidates with a designated coach to instruct and guide them through a 15-18
month program that teaches candidates the essential functions of working within the NAPA
system and to assume responsibility as a functional manager in one of the U.S. Automotive
Parts Group Distribution Centers within the United States.

A selected ET will experience store operations, sales management and distribution center
operations through a series of projects designed to improve their ability to successfully
manage in the NAPA store and distribution center environment. Areas of training will
include development of:
Financial acumen
Store operations
Distribution Center operations
Information management
Asset and resource management
Safety management and environmental compliance
Inventory management
Business Acumen

Responsibilities: The following section contains the primary responsibilities for this
position. Job holder is responsible for performing any other duties as assigned by
management. List the significant activities that support that function, for instance manage the
annual store audit process. Where possible use language that ties the job back to the company
mission and vision.

Attends required company meetings.
Attends all development program training classes.
Completes all training activities and projects within deadlines.
Learns about retail store operations.

Assists Store Managers with the operation of the retail store and complete his/her
duties in his/her absence.
Learns about DC operations.
Assists various department managers with the operation of the their department and
complete his/her duties in his/her absence.
Enforces all policies and procedures to ensure excellent customer service is provided
and to maximize the P&L performance of the location.
Analyzes operating reports and make recommendations for improvement.
Job Requirements
Experience, Education, and Abilities:
Minimum of one (1) to five (5) years professional business experience
4 year - Bachelors degree required, or equivalent, with an emphasis in Business
Administration, Marketing, Finance preferred.
Good listening skills, quick learner
Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
Ability to work in a fast past, ever-changing environment and multi-task effectively.
Strong time management and organizational skills are a must, with the ability to meet
strict time lines.
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
Must be comfortable working in ambiguous and/or stressful situations
Must be self-motivated and know when to seek guidance for direction
Flexible, able to change priorities quickly, and capacity to handle multiple tasks
Strong detail-orientation is critical to success
Microsoft Office Suite experience a plus
Preference given for bi-lingual candidates
Highly analytical
Willingness to relocate at the completion of training is mandatory
25-50% local and regional travel.
