Job Description
 

The Guest Room Attendant will prepare guest rooms for arrival and continued stay of hotel guests in accord with company standards.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND TASKS

  • Prepare beds (which includes: replacing soiled linen and changing bedspread, bed pad, and bed skirt as needed.
  • Clean bathrooms (which includes: removing soiled terry and replenishing with clean terry, removing trash, replenishing supplies, and cleaning tubs, walls, floors, toilets, vanities, mirrors and fixtures).
  • Clean living areas (which includes: dusting furniture, removing trash, cleaning doors and spots on walls, cleaning mirrors, replenishing supplies, and vacuuming the room.
  • Record repairs needed on back of maid sheet.
  • Complete pertinent information on maid sheet (which includes: room status (P.M.) and linen usage for each room).
  • Perform specified extensive/general cleaning in assigned rooms.
  • Input room status of all rooms in phone system upon completion.
  • Record completion of general cleaning in each room, specifying those that required change of bedspread(s).
  • Perform physical room checks (P.M.).
  • Sign in/out with floor supervisor and accept master keys.
  • Ensure continual cleanliness of maid carts.
  • Ensure all lost & found items are placed in a bag and articles are immediately submitted to the supervisor
  • Load and transport cart to and from workstation for use throughout the shift.
  • Perform other similar duties and responsibilities as requested.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Excellent customer service and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of machine/equipment/chemicals used for cleaning.
  • Able to lift up to 20lbs.  
  • Knowledge of basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills.
  • Able to work under pressure at a rapid pace.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.

 

PHYSICAL DEMAND:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly walking between various areas of the property.
  • Constantly bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, and lifting (linen approximately 10 lbs., unlimited times throughout the day).
  • Frequently using wrist motion, dexterity, and grip strength to 30 lbs. force.
  • Occasionally lifting/carrying up to 20lbs.
  • Occasionally pushing, and pulling up to 30 lbs.
 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work performed indoors and outdoors, Employee may be exposed to chemicals, dust, secondhand smoke, and hot and cold temperatures. Employee will be required to balance and reach at varying heights. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

 

WORK SCHEDULE/HOURS:

Regular scheduled hours. Must be flexible if needed for occasional work outside of normal business hours.
